Job Description:

The Electronics Maintenance Technician II (Tech II) supports maintenance, repair, and operation of assigned RF threat emitter systems under the ARCTICS contract. Utilizing basic and advanced technical knowledge, the Tech II performs maintenance tasks, troubleshoots routine issues, and ensures system performance for Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex (JPARC) training missions. The position requires familiarity with AC/DC circuit interrelationships, technical documentation, and compliance with Air Force technical orders (TOs) and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) guidelines.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform maintenance activities including periodic, scheduled, unscheduled, and preventative maintenance following TOs and OEM documentation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve routine electronic issues using manufacturers' manuals and advanced technical knowledge
  • Replace components, wire circuits, and repair more complex electronic systems with limited supervision
  • Operate and prepare threat systems, including radars and supporting equipment, for training events, ensuring threat-faithful operations during JPARC missions
  • Use testing instruments such as spectrum analyzers, digital multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators to diagnose and verify system functionality
  • Plan work sequences, select appropriate tools, and ensure maintenance tasks are compliant with accepted practices
  • Maintain job completion logs and system reports
  • Track, manage, and maintain sufficient spares inventory to ensure operational readiness
  • Interface with Air Force depot systems to report on supported threat systems and ensure accurate status updates
  • Submit reports including Proposed Spare Parts Lists and Inventory/Utilization Data
  • Work under immediate supervision, seeking technical guidance from supervisors or higher-level technicians as needed
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • technical training in electronics required
  • 2-4 years of experience in electronics maintenance, repair, or operations
  • Familiarity with Radar and High-Power transmitters or similar systems preferred
  • Ability to interpret manufacturers' manuals, schematics, and technical documentation to solve routine problems
  • Proficiency with electronic test equipment, including spectrum analyzers, multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and signal generators
  • Strong understanding of AC/DC circuit interrelationships and judgment in planning work sequences
  • Ability to follow Air Force TOs and OEM standards
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Eligible for DoD security clearance. (Must be US Citizen)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Willingness to work outdoors and travel to support range operations
