Location: Peterborough. Contract: 12-Month. Hours: Mon-Thu 8:00 AM - 4:00 PM, Friday 8:00 AM - 3:30 PM. Pay Rate: £14.32 - £19.42 per hour (dependent on experience). Operating within a dynamic Test & Development Engineering facility, you will join the Electronics, Controls, and Instrumentation (EC&I) team. Your primary mission will be to calibrate, maintain, and repair vital test facility measurement systems to ensure data output remains flawless. You will also get hands-on with installing and commissioning advanced engine test cells and modified equipment.
Job Responsibility
Assemble & Upgrade: Build and upgrade high-standard instrumentation panels
Diagnose & Repair: Perform comprehensive electronic diagnostics using advanced equipment and provide rapid first-line breakdown support
Maintain & Calibrate: Execute Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) and calibration routines for test cells and interface harnesses
Collaborate: Read and interpret technical drawings to work seamlessly alongside engineers, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams
Requirements
A Level 3 technical apprenticeship (electrical/electronic bias) OR strong, hands-on industry experience without a formal apprenticeship
Proven experience in building/wiring electrical and instrumentation panels
Hands-on experience with the calibration and fault-finding of precision instrumentation
The ability to easily read and interpret electronic design schematics and electrical drawings
A proactive attitude with a strict commitment to health and safety standards
An understanding of engine test cell environments
Multi-skilled in both electrical and electronics disciplines
Knowledge of Root Cause Analysis techniques
ISO7671 IEE 18th Edition Electrical Regulations or an HNC in a relevant discipline
