Arcfield is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer / Platform Engineering Lead to support the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Division Newport Code 34 Electronic Surveillance (ES) Program Office and NAVSEA PMS435 initiatives. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and systems engineering expertise supporting submarine Electronic Surveillance systems throughout the acquisition, integration, testing, modernization, and new construction lifecycle for Virginia, Columbia, Seawolf, Los Angeles, Ohio, and SSGN-class platforms. The selected candidate will serve as a key interface between Government program offices, shipbuilders, engineering teams, and industry partners to ensure successful delivery of mission-critical undersea warfare capabilities.
Job Responsibility
Lead systems engineering efforts supporting submarine Electronic Surveillance (ES) systems across new construction, modernization, and technology insertion programs
Serve as the primary technical representative for customer engagements, design reviews, integrated product teams (IPTs), and stakeholder meetings
Coordinate engineering activities among NAVSEA PMS435, NUWC Code 34, Electric Boat, Lockheed Martin, shipyards, and contractor teams
Develop, review, and maintain Government Furnished Information (GFI) packages, engineering change documentation, design reviews, and technical data packages
Oversee integration activities for Electronic Warfare (EW), Electronic Surveillance (ES), Command and Control, and associated Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES)
Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams through system design, development, testing, installation, and fleet deployment
Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure program schedule and performance objectives are achieved
Support submarine platform construction activities, Schedule A/D material deliveries, and shipbuilder integration efforts
Conduct engineering assessments of equipment design changes, engineering change notices, and modernization upgrades
Provide technical oversight for Combat Systems and ES testing events, including qualification testing and platform integration milestones
Develop technical briefings and present recommendations to Government leadership and program stakeholders
Support issue resolution activities related to system performance, integration challenges, and fleet readiness requirements
Mentor and develop junior engineering staff, driving technical proficiency and ensuring the consistent utilization of proven engineering practices, processes, and design methodologies
Requirements
BS 8-10, MS 6-8, PhD 3-5
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline
Minimum 12 years of engineering experience supporting Department of Defense acquisition, integration, testing, or submarine programs
