Job Description

In Airbus Defence and Space, we are looking for an Electronic Warfare Software Architect for the department in charge of Ground Support Systems and Electronic Warfare solutions. The position will be located in Torrejón de Ardoz Air Base (CLAEX). Our product portfolio enables the whole Mission Management cycle from preparation to debriefing phases. Our vision is to create and operate for military forces, government organizations and nations real-time, collaborative multi-platform mission services. The successful applicant will join our electronic warfare team, where you will be responsible for the design and development of software assets for Combat and Transport Aircrafts.

Job Responsibility

  • Design, develop and verify software assets for Combat and Transport Aircrafts according to software requirements
  • Analyze requirements of upper level to design and develop specific technical requirements of lower level covering functional analysis, standards and non-functional requirements
  • Evaluate and select the best technology options to implement the system and fulfil the business requirements according to architecture capabilities
  • Determine the best solution in terms of frameworks, tools, standards and technologies
  • Identify and design common assets to maximize reuse among the rest of area projects
  • Support activities of upper level (system requirement analysis, architecture and validation)
  • Participate in research and technology projects

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in Java technologies (desktop and server development with Swing, JPA, Java SE, Jakarta EE, Oracle, PostGres, EJB, Rest)
  • Demonstrable experience in module development with NetBeans RCP
  • Great OO skills and strong design patterns knowledge
  • Experience in service-oriented software architecture
  • Training or experience in software product line engineering
  • Possibility to obtain NATO Secret accreditation

Nice to have

  • Demonstrable Knowledge of Electronic Warfare (countermeasures, A/C sensors) and/or Mission Support Systems
  • Experience in development with Big Data, AI models and Machine learning (clustering algorithms) knowledge would be a plus
  • Certification or experience in Agile Software Processes (SCRUM)
  • You write clean code, know the importance of refactoring, encapsulation, design patterns and other best practices
  • Experience in Geospatial Engine Frameworks (Luciad, OpenMap, …)
  • Application Life Management: Redmine, JIRA, Team Foundation Server
  • Requirement management: DOORS
