Job Description:

The successful candidate will assist the 350th Spectrum Warfare Group (350 SWG), at Eglin AFB, Florida. The 350 SWG is the technical focal point for all electronic warfare (EW) support of warfighter systems for the Combat Air Forces (CAF) fighter, bomber, airborne surveillance and helicopter platforms. The mission of the 350 SWG is to develop and test mission data (MD) to identify and/or defeat enemy radar and infrared guided missile systems, thus enhancing aircrew and aircraft survivability in combat. This mission includes operational EW testing, MD development/validation/verification, force development evaluation execution and facilitating foreign materiel exploitation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Assist the 350th Spectrum Warfare Group (350 SWG), at Eglin AFB, Florida
  • Conducts EW research, MD development and MD testing
  • Supports EW system programming/reprogramming, works with EW system engineers to coordinate programming/reprogramming requirements, prepares validation and verification test plans, participates in ground and flight-testing, and organizes and participates in MD configuration control boards
  • Assist with the collection, recording, and post-test analysis of data generated during MD testing
  • Gather, interpret, and program emitter definitions for LO aircraft using robust software database suites referencing applicable intel sources
  • Analyze EW threat waveform and reprogram via design, develop, maintain, and test of parametric data into mission data file (MDF) utilizing various software tools
  • Conduct validation & verification of MDF via characterization, correlation, compatibility testing using software-in-the-loop (SITL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HITL)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure mission data design, development, and testing meets customer requirements

Requirements:

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, computer science, a related field, like math, or science plus 5 years of experience
  • Active Secret Security Clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI
  • Demonstrated ability to recognize and analyze problems, conduct research, summarize results, and make appropriate recommendations
  • Able to manage multiple Areas of Interest for mission data
  • Can prioritize multiple emitter assignments to maintain products up to date
  • Providing engineering and analysis in the following activities: developing and updating threat databases using Electronic Warfare Integrated Reprogramming (EWIR) tools, conducting, and reporting performance characterization assessments (PCAs)
  • designing and using computer-based tools to flag and extract threat system parametric for analyses
  • generating optimized EW MD software files
  • developing and using software simulations and EW laboratory facilities to verify and validate MD prior to fielding
  • and performing rapid reprogramming of fielded MD in response to adversary threat changes
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and an understanding of Windows-based personal computers and Microsoft Office software and possess the ability to communicate effectively both orally and written
  • Provide training to new staff to enable them to contribute to the mission
  • Required to travel

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of EW weapons systems development, test and evaluation, and systems engineering
