Job Description:

We’re hiring for an Electro-Mechanical Inspector Level 2 position in New Mexico and surrounding. This is an opportunity in which you will be supporting the first shift. This is a part-time position, 1-3 days per week. If you have a passion for mechanical products and a keen eye for quality, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!

Job Responsibility:

  • Incoming inspection from external providers of products or services/processing (e.g., nickel plating)
  • In-process and/or final inspection of critical features, including witness inspection (e.g., CMM program run)
  • Compilation of final inspection sign-off sheet or inspection package
  • Verification that the inspection equipment used to take measurements is capable of detecting defects
  • Verification that the inspection methodology is adequate per drawing intent
  • Review and validation of justification for any part not inspected at final inspection
  • Audit and validation of execution of the inspection plan, if applicable
  • Assure products are free of gaps, mismatches, fairing, and of acceptable contour and waviness
  • Assured products are of good workmanship and within specified workmanship standards (e.g., oil canning, riding conditions, loose fasteners, drill starts, scratches, dings, burrs, fastener edge distance, etc.)
  • Verifying all visible part finishes, paint, and skin quality are acceptable to the required visual standards
  • Verify hardware cleanliness and absence of internal or external foreign object debris
  • Verify safety wire has been applied in a negative pull orientation, the correct number of turns, and pigtails are tucked in according to specification requirements
  • Verify fasteners are properly installed
  • assure the torque stripe is continuous from the head to the surface and of the correct color

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with electro-mechanical parts inspection
  • Strong ability to read and interpret manufacturing drawings and industry/commodity standards
  • Proficient in GD&T and validating dimensions (tolerances ≥.005”) using hand tools (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges)
  • Ability to adapt to new technology and software
  • Excellent visual acuity to detect defects in complex products
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check
  • Must be ITAR compliant
What we offer:
  • 50% hourly rate for any travel time ("p2p")
  • Mileage reimbursement at the US gov't rate ($0.70 per mile driven). Untaxed
