Millennium Space Systems (MSS), a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking an Electro-Mechanical Technician Senior - First Shift to support the Manufacturing team in El Segundo, CA! Job SummaryThe Electro-Mechanical Technician Senior will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks in support of manufacturing of space flight sub-systems and support equipment. This role requires to work the first shift.

Job Responsibility:

  • Electro-Mechanical assembly of PCB assemblies into product chassis
  • Assemble Electro-Mechanical assemblies by interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings and specifications, and written assembly, and standard operating procedures
  • Use precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, micrometers and calipers
  • Perform visually inspect of Electro-Mechanical assemblies to drawings, engineering specifications, and written assembly, integration and test procedures
  • Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications
  • Document non-conformances and associated rework/repair
  • Soldering and reworking of through-hole and SMT components
  • Support conformal coat, masking, epoxy application and coating

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in Electro-Mechanical assembly on high reliability products
  • Industry and/or Trade School training
  • Working knowledge ESD, IPC J-STD-001, and IPC-A-610 standards
  • Experience with a variety of assembly techniques and tools (e.g. epoxy, thread-locker, torque wrench, soldering iron, microscope, etc.)
  • 3-5 years of soldering experience
  • Must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required

Nice to have:

  • > 5 yrs experience building a variety of component-level space products (e.g. avionics boxes, batteries, mechanisms, optics, printed circuit board assemblies, solar arrays, etc.)
  • IPC J-STD-001 and/or IPC-A-610 certification
  • Experience working in at least a 100,000 Class cleanroom environment
  • Ability to Obtain Clearance
  • Ability to travel
