The Division of Behavioral Health and Recovery is seeking to hire an Electrician for the Alton Mental Health Center located in Alton, Illinois to receive day-today guidance and assignments from the Stationary Engineer-Assistant Chief. Performs preventive maintenance and repair of the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system located at the facility. Performs preventative maintenance activities on 400HZ motor generators, including lubrication and checking units for excessive vibration and noise. Changes building ballasts and bulbs. Installs and maintains battery systems ensuring proper function and integrity of batteries and that the battery charging systems are working correctly.
Job Responsibility:
Receives day-to-day guidance and assignments from the Chief Stationary Engineer-Assistant Chief at the Alton Mental Health Center
Performs preventive maintenance and repair of the uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system located at the facility
Performs preventative maintenance activities on 400HZ motor generators, including lubrication and checking units for excessive vibration and noise
Changes building ballasts and bulbs
Installs and maintains battery systems ensuring proper function and integrity of batteries and that the battery charging systems are working correctly
Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above
Requirements:
Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of high school
Requires proof of possession of successful completion of a recognized electrician apprenticeship program and four (4) years full-time journey level electrician experience OR eight (8) years of full-time journey level electrician experience
Requires a high voltage electrician license at the journeyman or supervising electrician level through local municipality, work location County or the State of Illinois
Requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds independently and push/pull or lifts up to 100 pounds with assistance to perform repairs and in the maintenance of facilities
Requires the ability to utilize office equipment, including personal computers
Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check
Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law
