The electrician performs installation of electrical and systems construction elements of C3M projects. This role is primarily a Washington DC position, however traveling and interacting with multiple project teams across various locations throughout the U.S. is also available.
Job Responsibility:
Perform electrical installations on Transportation and/or Industrial Construction projects
Provide input and coordinate with other trades on each project
Maintain safety and quality standards on all installations and tasks
Ensure code compliance by inspecting and testing electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards or needed repairs
Maintain positive personal contact and relationships with management, staff, craft and the local unions
Ensures that all activities are consistent with project plans, policies and procedures
Responsible for assembly, installation, maintenance and testing of electrical equipment and wiring systems
Prepares work area for installation of equipment
Installs electrical components
Connects wiring and equipment as per code and job specification
Operates equipment only if trained and certified to operate
Sets up and operates tools such as hydraulic benders, power threaders, power pullers and cable vacuum systems
Be able to read blueprints and electrical drawings and install as specified
Verify dimensions, alignments and clearances per drawings or plans
Secure and lock up equipment after use
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as electrician for transportation and/or industrial electrical and systems projects
Journeymen’s Electrical License or equivalent (Preferred)
Proficient knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and construction safety requirements
Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills
Strong work ethic and desire to work in a team environment
Ability to promote teamwork and open communication on the project site
Highly motivated with strong skills in time management and prioritization
Creative and results-oriented with a sense of urgency

Current IBEW Member in Good Standing or ability to join the IBEW
