The Electrician is responsible for modifying, repairing, and overhauling all types of electrical and electronic equipment and controls across the facility. Maintain, modify and install PLC programs. Troubleshoot and correct electrical/electronic problems on the plant floor.
Job Responsibility:
Install, modify, rebuild, repair, or overhaul all types of electronic/electrical equipment and controls with an emphasis on plant operations
Remove and/or install electronic/electrical equipment and parts
Modify, maintain, and install PLC programs
Analyze and correct electrical/electronic problems
Must be familiar with electrical/electronic tools, gauges, calibration, and testing equipment
Must have a working knowledge of camera/vision systems, computers, hand and power tools, bench lathe, pipe threader, acetylene torch, etc
Must be familiar with motors, generators, transformers, conduits, bus ducts, fittings, wires, cable, transistors and other electrical/electronic gauges, meters, and control devices
Familiarization with Plant production and communication equipment is required
Must be able to modify, maintain, and install PLC programs
Must be able to develop new programs as directed
Identify PLC problems, troubleshoot PLCs and maintain PLC updated documentation and wiring changes
Receive wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications and instructions covering scheduled and emergency repair, installation, and inspection work to be done
Plan and perform work requiring a through knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and principles, wiring specifications, codes, properties of various materials, and principles of operation and application of electronic equipment
Make sketches of parts and layouts, design and construct adaptations or conversions of component parts, including the necessary phases of development work
Perform Preventative Maintenance inspection of assigned equipment, report findings and take appropriate action
Write and perform maintenance work orders as required
Make mechanical and electrical repairs as required in servicing electronic equipment, including assembling, modifying, repairing and replacement of individual electronic parts within components, circuit modules, and printed circuit boards
Maintain performance inventory and maintenance records for electrical and electronic equipment
Advise operators, mechanics, and other electrical maintenance personnel of standard operating procedures and requirements for electronic and electronic equipment and controls
Notify supervisor of potentially dangerous electrical equipment notes and corrective action taken
Operate equipment and assist production as directed
Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Electrician designation with at least three years industrial experience
Experience with installation, troubleshooting, repair, and adjustment of industrial, electrical and electronic equipment
Experience with Allen-Bradley and Rockwell PLCs, Controllogix5000, Siemens Processors and RS Logix
Software experience with frequency drives, Yaskawa and others preferred
Working knowledge of 3 phase power circuits and ability to read electrical prints
Ability to test an Electrical aptitude test
Strong working knowledge of safety principles
Ability to stand for a long duration of time in excess of 8 hours a day
Exposure to heat, cold, vibrations, odors/fumes, and loud noises
Must be flexible to work days, nights, weekends and well as holidays
