ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for an Electrician / Maintenance Technician at the Albany Capital Center. SUMMARY: Work with the HVAC/Maintenance Technician to develop, operate and maintain all electrical systems. Facility event coverage for all electrical needs.
Job Responsibility:
Work with the events manager and show management to ensure that all electrical needs are met for shows
Perform preventative maintenance related projects to the building’s electrical, Fire, HVAC, and plumbing systems
Perform preventative maintenance related projects for the building’s cosmetic needs including painting, tile replacement, and general carpentry
Troubleshoot all electrical problems as they occur
Monitor all electrical inventory and supplies and work with management on ordering and replenishing supplies as needed
Operate and maintain computerized fire alarm and lighting systems
Monitor monthly generator test
Work with building HVAC Technician to ensure proper operation of HVAC systems
Pulling, running, and terminating cables
Adhere to OSHA, NFPA and other applicable safety codes, as well as ASM Global job safety requirements
Operate equipment including Forklift, Scissor Lift, Truck (w/snowplow etc....)
Assist with snow plowing/removal as needed
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED
Successful completion of apprenticeship program or trade school
2-4 years related journeyman level experience and/or training
or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
Possession of Electrical license is highly desirable
Line voltage experience required
Must be familiar with blueprints and local building codes
Current driver’s license required
Computer skills including MS Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
Must have working knowledge of computers and extensive knowledge of building electrical codes
Must have knowledge of safe operation of all tools required to perform necessary job functions. These tools can include, but are not limited to, sharp cutters, reamers, drills, gas cutting torches, benders and equipment such as service carts, scissor lifts and boom lifts
Requires the ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business hours
Be able to work in elevated spaces such as off a lift or on a catwalk
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception
