ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent opening for an Electrician with the Operations Department at Coliseo de Puerto. The Electrician position will support the Facility Operations Department by operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial building equipment. This role also serves as a key member of the facility’s Emergency Response Team, participating in preparedness and recovery efforts for emergencies—whether natural, human-caused, or due to system failures affecting operations. Additionally, the Electrician will respond to service calls related to urgent events or operational needs.
Job Responsibility:
Perform preventive maintenance on electrical and electromechanical systems, including but not limited to transformers, motor control centers, distribution panels, overcurrent protection systems, disconnect switches, safety switches, contactors, relays, power connection points, lighting, and lighting control systems. Tasks include inspections, cleaning, part replacements (such as fuses, interrupters, terminals, and cables), and periodic testing—all with minimal disruption to facility occupants
Provide electrical support for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical equipment
Work with industrial electrical voltage levels (three-phase and single-phase: 13,200V, 480V, 208V, and 120V)
Install new electrical equipment following all applicable codes and standards
Adjust system configurations using technical equipment as needed
Perform troubleshooting, identify faults, and test equipment promptly to minimize downtime
Assist and facilitate the work of Operations subcontractors when required
Execute work orders generated by the building maintenance system, ensuring timely completion and reporting observations
Monitor equipment operation, analyze system performance graphs, and interpret control panel readings to evaluate efficiency and take necessary corrective actions
Respond to alarms from facility security and emergency systems
Maintain inventory of equipment, parts, and supplies
Initiate purchase requisitions and submit them for supervisor approval
Ensure compliance with OSHA, NFPA, and other applicable safety codes
Operate equipment safely for manual or motorized cargo movement
Maintain and operate tools within the maintenance workshop
Follow all company policies and procedures
As part of the Emergency Response Team, actively participate in tasks to protect and restore facility operations
Perform additional tasks as requested related to building operation
Requirements:
Associate degree in Electrical Technology
At least four (4) years of experience in the construction and maintenance of electrical systems
Valid Electrician License issued by the Puerto Rico Department of State
Active membership in the Colegio de Peritos Electricistas de Puerto Rico (required)
Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards, including: National Electrical Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Association 70E (NFPA 70E), Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standards
Advanced ability to read and interpret drawings and diagrams
Experience in diagnosing faults in electrical and electromechanical systems
Basic knowledge of mechanical systems
Strong critical thinking and logical problem-solving skills
Ability to perform tasks safely and efficiently
Strong prioritization and multitasking skills
Flexibility to work various schedules, including early mornings, days, evenings, weekends, holidays, extended workdays, and multiple consecutive days as needed
Strong teamwork orientation
Ability to perform tasks related to other trades when necessary
Must be physically capable of pulling wires and cables through conduits
Capability to work at heights and climb areas while carrying loads
