The Electrician will be working as part of a team within the assembly area, working on pumps for Original Equipment [OE] and aftermarket jobs. The role will include all aspects of electrical assembly from building to dismantling product working in all areas within assembly. Working efficiently to produce quality product and workmanship within timeframe applicable. Help with continuous improvement within areas to improve flow and drive down costs.
Job Responsibility:
Installation of electrical and instrumentation systems and cabling on production pump skids
Electrical assembly of new pumps for OE and aftermarket orders within laid down parameters, efficiently, in line with work instructions
Dismantling and electrical assembly of repair / service pumps for OE and aftermarket orders within laid down parameters, efficiently, in line with work instructions
Working within assembly and test to ensure economic manufacturing to the correct quality standard
Responsible for your own quality of work, self-inspection and completion of paperwork and applicable checklists are required
Assist Operations Manager with problems that occur within the assembly department
Work with other departments to ensure that issues are resolve and documented in line with current procedures in a timely manner
Maintenance of site electrical infrastructure, plant and equipment
Assist in preparing/updating assembly documentation, programs, and tooling
Participate in continuous improvement activities when required to assist the company in its efforts to drive down costs and increase productivity
If required, be available to attend customer’s site to carry out service work on behalf of the company
Work in other areas when required
Work with managers to implement the company's policies and goals
Ensure that health, safety and environmental guidelines are followed
Provide on-going support and training to peers and apprentices within electrical assembly and where required
Be available for further training if required
If required, assist in the test area which include Hydro, performance, noise and vibration testing. Included will be setting up and stripping product off test, efficiently, in line with work instructions
Requirements:
Experience on installation and maintenance of low and medium voltage systems
The ability to work as part of a multi-function team preferably in a heavy engineering manufacturing environment
Working knowledge of BS7671 IEE wiring regulations (18th Edition)
Have completed a recognised Electrical Apprenticeship
Have an understanding and experience of lean manufacturing techniques
Team Player with high level of energy and commitment required for participating in and implementing change
Strong communication skills
