The purpose of the electrician's position is to perform repairs, preventive/predictive maintenance, testing, and process improvements on all mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and systems. The electrician must rely on their knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles in order to troubleshoot malfunctions to equipment and systems and to repair and restore operation. The associate in this position will be expected to work overtime as needed and to fill in for absences on shift as needed. This position is located in La Grande, Oregon.
Job Responsibility:
Perform repairs, preventive/predictive maintenance, testing, and process improvements on all mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and systems
Troubleshoot malfunctions to equipment and systems and to repair and restore operation
Work overtime as needed and to fill in for absences on shift as needed
Requirements:
Journeyman Electrician's license
Excellent attendance record
Demonstrated high energy level, strong work ethic, and positive approach to problem solving
Advanced experience using power tools, measuring devices, and other hand tools
Experience in performing advanced preventive maintenance procedures
The ability to work with others in identifying and solving complex manufacturing problems
The ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision
The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
Advanced knowledge of electrical, architectural, and mechanical diagrams, drawings, and specifications
Advanced knowledge of procedures to test for, locate, and repair electrical malfunctions
Experience in diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, HVAC, electrical (incl power supplies, motor drives, & transformers), electronic ( incl. programmable and numeral controls), and pneumatic equipment and systems
Thorough knowledge of electrical/electronic and mechanical principles
Nice to have:
Advanced knowledge of wood panel production processes
3 years experience as an electrician in a fast paced manufacturing environment
Experience in maintaining compliance with local and national electrical code
