To perform electrical and instrumentation inspections, repairs and rebuilds on plant electrical equipment and infrastructure within the required quality control standards. This role is critical to achieving Plant OEE and Equipment Availability goals by elimination of unplanned stops and extended downtimes.
Job Responsibility:
Perform electrical and instrumentation inspections, repairs and rebuilds on plant electrical equipment and infrastructure
Complete and document Workplace Inspections
Perform preventive maintenance checks and report findings
Participate in the work order initiation process
Ensure all inventory parts are correctly charged from Stores
Possess a good knowledge of power distribution systems
Installation, maintenance, and adjustment of transformers
Perform low voltage terminations and maintenance on switchgear up to 600VAC
Troubleshoot, adjust and maintain all types of starters, variable frequency drives and PLC’s
Perform basic electrical calculations and tasks with all electrical test equipment
Plan out and install conduit per code requirements
Test, troubleshoot, maintain and repair AC motors, drives, motor control circuits
Install and align electrical motors
Maintain and replace control valves, actuators and positioners
Use of precision measuring tools
Troubleshoot and modify control loops
Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair cameras and monitors
Troubleshoot, calibrate and maintain belt-weighing devices, pressure-sensing devices, temperature-sensing devices, motion sensing devices, flow meters, flow control valves, and level indicators
Ensure maintenance tools are kept in good condition
Maintain a complete set of personal hand tools
Perform post-job inspection to ensure a high level of housekeeping
Operate small mobile equipment
Train on any new equipment installations
Attend scheduled safety meetings
Enforce all applicable safety policies
Maintain a safe and clean work environment
Promote safety among co-workers
Participate in Behavior Based Safety program
Comply with company, state and governmental health and safety regulations
Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Completion of an apprenticeship program, technical program, or equivalent experience in industrial background
Five (5) to seven (7) years electrical experience in industrial settings
Journeyman Level or above
Must be capable of working overtime
Must be able to work well within a team environment and take instructions from management and co-workers
Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with supervisors and peers
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently
Must possess the basic reading and math skills
Must have good written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to read, write, and perform basic mathematical calculations
Must have a valid driver’s license
Must be capable of operating manlifts/scissor lifts as required
Strong record of attendance reliability
Must know, understand, and observe all department and plant safety rules and maintain a high level of housekeeping in assigned work areas
Must be physically able to perform work assigned
Must be physically capable of accessing all plant locations
Access all areas within a site which could include heights of 120 feet, confined spaces, climbing ladders or stairs, and accessing tunnels
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Nice to have:
Experience programming and troubleshooting with Allen-Bradley PLC-5, Control Logix, and RSLogix5
Previous heavy manufacturing and/or mining experience
