We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time Electrician to join their team in Alice Springs. The Electrician reports to the Maintenance Supervisor with day-to-day activities overseen by the Senior Maintenance Officer. You will perform the electrical maintenance and repair of domestic switchboards and equipment on residential properties in Alice Springs. Occasional overtime and callouts will be required. Work Schedule: Monday to Thursday 0730- 1600Hrs and Friday 0730-1330Hrs (38 hour week). Job Responsibility
Maintenance tasks including programmed (planned) maintenance or repairs as required
Perform fault finding as required
Repair and replace faulty wiring and defective parts as necessary
Connect electrical systems to power supply
Test continuity of circuits
Ensure equipment is maintained to operate in a safe manner in accordance with ASNZ:3000
Use computer systems to record and plan work tasks
Assist in other areas of facilities and maintenance from time to time as required
Ensure safety is an integral part of everyday activities and report any incidents to management as a priority
Perform other duties as directed by the Vesta management team
Requirements
Trade Qualification – Cert III in Electrotechnology Electrician
Demonstrated 3-5 years' experience in construction and domestic maintenance work
Ability to be the Nominee for the company Electrical Contractors Licence. This requires either completion of a NT Contractors examination (or willing to do so) or have been a nominee on an NT Contractors Licence in the past 3 years
Ability to work within a team environment and with minimal supervision as required
Good interpersonal skills with a customer service focus
Good communication skills – verbal and written
Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and successfully complete assigned tasks
Demonstrated ability to identify and analyse issues and develop solutions to problems
Current Drivers Licence
Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
A willingness to partake in Pre-Employment Medical and D&A Screen and Background checks
Nice to have
A valid General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
CPR/Low voltage rescue
First Aid Certificate
Training in appropriate safety procedures (i.e., Confined Space Entry, Working at Heights, Electrical Safety, Personal Protective Equipment, Lockout/Tagout, Working in Trenches etc.)
NT Work safe High Risk Work – Boom type Elevated Work Platform licence
