Are you an A-Grade Electrician looking for a foot in the door in the Rail industry? Do you have a strong interest in PLCs and VSDs? Are you driven to capitalize shift loadings and overtime in order to build your future? Our client is seeking an Electrician to install, maintain, repair, and troubleshoot electrical and electronic systems in our manufacturing plant. You will be working hands-on with heavy industrial machinery, including weigh-up machines, mixers, moulding machines, presses, ovens, rotators, and Dynometers. This role initially starts on a day shift (6:30 am – 2:30 pm) but will require flexibility to work an afternoon shift (2:00 pm – 10:00 pm), eventually transitioning into a permanent rotating day/afternoon roster.
Job Responsibility:
Respond to emergency breakdowns, troubleshoot faults, and implement effective solutions to minimize downtime
Perform routine preventative maintenance and monthly safety inspections on building installations, appliances, and factory equipment
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot industrial electrical systems, including motors, control panels, and PLCs
Read and interpret electrical engineering schematics and technical drawings
Work with the Engineering Manager to design, modify, and improve the factory’s electrical systems to meet future capacity demands
Conduct electrical testing (like lead tagging and calibration) to ensure correct function and safety
Requirements:
A current NSW Electrical Licence (Qualified Supervisor) / A-Grade Electrical License
Proven experience with PLCs (Allen Bradley or Siemens), SCADA systems, and VSDs
Strong understanding of the latest Australian electrical standards, WHS regulations, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work closely with production supervisors, engineers, and fitters
