Performs routine maintenance and repair services in more than one craft such as electrical, carpentry, welding, plumbing, sheet metal, painting, and millwrighting. This position is more common in smaller facilities where the incumbent has adequate experience to do most of the work specific to that setting, but is supported by specialists or outside contractors as needed. Has a sound understanding of the maintenance history of the building, equipment, and other facilities to be maintained.
Job Responsibility:
Setup, install, adjust, and maintain production equipment including conveyors, automation, pneumatics, pumps, encoders, variable frequency drives, etc
480 and 120/208 voltage electrical troubleshooting
PLC troubleshooting
Design – effective knowledge of design techniques, tools and principals involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
Mechanical – effective knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
Computers – effective knowledge of computer hardware and software
Electronics – effective knowledge of electronic equipment and systems
Able to work independently, prioritize tasks and do research to find answers in some cases with little guidance
Able to follow directions, procedures, and guidelines as directed by the supervisor
Requirements:
High School diploma or equivalent
2 Year technical degree (preferred)
Certifications are not required, although they can be useful as a means of demonstrating ability to handle the rigors of the job effectively. Ie Journeyman’s or master electrician
Typical minimum 4+ years as an Electrician or 3+ years manufacturing electrician required
Electrical wiring capabilities to manage problems with the plant’s machinery
Demonstrable computer abilities, Windows (Word and Excel), Internet and email, and other, relevant applications
Demonstrable Advanced Analytical/Troubleshooting Skills including PLC, Electrical, Mechanical and other related systems including PLC programming, shop tools and equipment
