The building maintenance technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, and repair according to safety, productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the company’s business goals and objectives. Our maintenance technicians are key members of our team enhancing the value and usefulness of our facilities and equipment.
Job Responsibility:
Perform a variety of electrical trade functions in accordance with local and national electrical codes
Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electronic testing equipment
Work on and troubleshoot AC/DC voltage related systems: 120/208/277/480
Perform all electrical & instrumentation maintenance including but not limited to preventive, corrective, and emergency repairs on all equipment and systems
Uses a maintenance reporting system to record time and material use, work orders, tools, deferred maintenance, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, problems identified and corrected, and further actions required
Detect faulty operations, defective materials or equipment and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
Perform the job in accordance with all applicable standards, policies and regulatory guidelines (including OSHA standards/PPE) to promote a safe working environment
Some shift work, evenings, weekends, and emergency response may be required
Requirements:
1-3+ years of relevant professional commercial electrical experience
Proficiency of Low, Medium and High Voltage Electrical System
Comprehension of basic principles of electricity, related terminology and materials used
an ability to read volt-ohm-amp testers
Possess knowledge to safely and effectively use maintenance tools and equipment
Aptitude to read, interpret and utilize manuals and schematics while following written procedures and verbal instructions
Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced, structured environment
Understand the importance of a good attitude and “team spirit” along with working well with other staff members
Awareness to work safely under general supervision, follow written procedures and verbal instructions, exercise good judgement, and manage time to complete assignments
Must be able to bend, reach, sit, stop, balance, climb, stand for long periods of time, walk far distances, work with arms extended over the shoulders, push, pull, and perform repetitive physical tasks
Basic computer skills in the Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, Power Point, Teams, Project), Outlook and general software navigation
