Job Description

The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world. Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history. Future Generation Joint Venture on behalf of SC Hydro Pty Ltd is currently recruiting for Electricians with HV & Instrumentation experience & TBM experience on the Snowy 2.0 Project in the Snowy Monaro region. The project is working a 14:7 roster, 12-hour shifts which may include days/nights rotating. These positions are in remote challenging areas with extreme cold temperatures which need to be considered before applying for these roles.

Job Responsibility

  • Managing the daily electrical running, operation and maintenance of underground machines, including Tunnel Boring Machines and Jumbos, associated electrical and surface electrical equipment for all sites
  • Organising and planning work for future electrical operations
  • Managing planned and extraordinary maintenance for all electrical equipment on site
  • Reading and working on electrical drawings for underground machines, including Tunnel Boring Machines and Jumbos / site installations
  • Liaising with the rest of the Plant & Equipment Team for planning ongoing and future works
  • Provide support to production team, for trouble shooting and preventative maintenance
  • Responsible for identifying all electrical safety and technical hazards and notifying the appropriate persons accordingly
  • Ability to perform daily safety and maintenance checks
  • Required to familiarize themselves with the approved emergency procedures, contingency plans, communication procedures and rescue plans

Requirements

  • Electrical Trade Certificate
  • Current CPR/LVR
  • NSW or mutually recognised Electrical Licence
  • High Voltage Switching ticket
  • Drivers licence
  • Working at Heights
  • General Construction Induction training (white card)
  • Right to work in Australia
  • Be able to pass medical and a criminal history check
