One of our flagship contracts is with the Ministry of Defence at a major base near Watford – a complex, high-profile environment where we provide a full range of hard, soft, and technical FM services. We’re now seeking an Electrical Maintenance Team Lead, to oversee and lead the onsite multi-skilled electrical team in delivering all associated Planned & Reactive maintenance. To ensure works are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with the Skanska Health & Safety policies and procedures the safe operation, maintenance and repair of the site electrical / mechanical / building services plant & equipment as delegated by the A&E Ops Management Team in support of all operational delivery under the terms of the Northwood PFI contract.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure effective deployment of the Multi-Skilled Electrical Team in actioning electrical related Planned & Reactive Maintenance & project works
Ensure all works are carried out safely and in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Regulations
Carry out survey works and prepare quotations as required by the client
Identify staff training needs and report to immediate manager for authorisation
Carry out quality checks of all works being carried out to ensure compliance with agreed standards
Perform planned preventative maintenance, statutory compliance tasks and reactive works investigations/repairs on, but not limited to, the Low Voltage electrical systems on site
Service, test, diagnose and repair process control systems and automatic control devices related to the building services plant and equipment
Liaise / assist with other services as necessary for the efficient delivery of work activities, workmanship and productivity to comply with the performance standards
Use provided test and monitoring equipment for the purpose of maintaining engineering system operational performance and to aid fault diagnostics and repair, interrogate and adjust systems to maintain correct operation of plant and equipment
Requirements:
NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent (including recognised apprenticeship) with either an electrical or building services bias
Working knowledge of other building services and trades
Excellent team working and problem-solving capabilities
Able to fully satisfy the Client security clearance minimum requirements (SC)
Experience of Engineering Services Maintenance
Qualification and experience in Periodic Inspections
Experience of complex electrical installations including UPS and Generators
Work experience in a MOD environment and compliance with MOD Safe Systems of Work (JSP375, Vol 3)
Experience of working to Critical Engineering Risk Management protocols
