Prestige Homes, a division of The Shaw Group Limited, is currently accepting internal applications for an Electrical Supervisor to lead our Electrical crew in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This is a working supervisor position, responsible for balancing hands-on electrical work with daily leadership, coordination, and people management responsibilities. The Electrical Supervisor will ensure work demands are met by effectively allocating and reallocating resources, addressing bottlenecks, supporting employee development, and collaborating closely with other departments to safely meet production targets.
Job Responsibility:
Lead the Electrical crew to meet daily and weekly work demands in a busy manufacturing environment
Actively reallocate resources to address bottlenecks and shifting priorities within the department
Work alongside the crew as a working supervisor while maintaining oversight of work quality and productivity
Mentor new employees entering the Electrical department
Support and coordinate the department training of all new hires and the cross-training of existing team members
Lead weekly toolbox talks focused on safety, quality, and operational updates
Lead weekly morning meetings, including required stretching and safety activities
Attend supervisor meetings to understand upcoming work demands and communicate priorities to the team
Collaborate with other department leads to support overall production flow and site objectives
Communicate effectively to resolve interdepartmental issues and resource constraints
Support performance management of the Electrical crew, including coaching, feedback, and participation in difficult conversations
Assist with attendance management in accordance with company policies and procedures
Work closely with management and HR as required to address performance or conduct concerns
Lead by example in promoting a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Requirements:
Red Seal Electrician
Previous experience leading or mentoring a team considered an asset
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to balance hands-on work with supervisory responsibilities
