Requirements

6+ years relevant mechanical industry experience or mechanical trade level experience
Bachelor's degree or trade certification in related field plus 2+ years relevant mechanical industry experience will be considered in lieu of 6+ years mechanical industry experience
Working knowledge of critical facility operations with experience or understanding of procedure-based work
Working knowledge of psychrometric charts and refrigeration cycles
Theoretical and practical understanding of mechanical equipment and systems, with expertise in mechanical equipment design, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and/or construction
Working knowledge of electrical, control and fire/life safety systems
Experience in interpreting blueprints/CAD drawings
Experience working in a highly collaborative, cross-functional environment
Experience in critical environments
Significant experience in comprehending mechanical plans, specifications, and equipment shop drawings

Job Responsibility

Serve as an onsite technical resource of mechanical infrastructure systems and equipment, with an emphasis on practical field operation
Support cross-functional collaboration, including all local and global partners
Contribute to the mechanical safety program for the site
Plan, resource, author, or approve work procedures to cover mechanical troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance activities, with an emphasis on assessing and mitigating personnel and critical systems and operational risk
Conduct or oversee hands-on troubleshooting, repair, retrofit, and maintenance of mechanical equipment
Oversee mechanical system configurations and component upgrades to ensure system integrity is maintained and that all modifications to existing systems comply with best practices, including change control processes
Provide Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QAQC) oversight of construction projects & maintenance activity
Lead and/or participate in root-cause analysis activities in the area of expertise
Provide training to Critical Facility Engineers and other cross-functional teams on mechanical equipment, systems, procedures, and changes to include mechanical, fire & life safety, water equipment, systems, and procedures
Manage vendor relationships for mechanical maintenance and retrofit work

Requirements

6+ years of control systems experience in programming development, start-up, and commissioning of complex systems - central plants, air handling units, and evaporative cooling/humidification systems
Bachelor's degree or trade certification in related field and 2+ years relevant controls industry experience will be considered in lieu of 6+ years controls industry experience
Working knowledge of critical facility operations with experience or understanding of procedure-based work
Theoretical and practical understanding of control equipment and systems, with in-depth understanding of control equipment design, maintenance, troubleshooting, testing, and/or construction

Job Responsibility

Accountable for all Building Management System (BMS) changes and enhancements at the data center as part of a global fleet
Diagnose and repair complex control system malfunctions requiring extensive knowledge of a variety of electronic or digital control systems and the capacity to test and create modifications in multiple languages of system software
Troubleshoot and repair controls hardware, including controllers, relays, measurement devices, actuators, and associated equipment with mechanical and electrical device systems
Review operating equipment data for efficiency improvements, monitor all building systems for abnormal operating trends, and make optimization adjustments accordingly
Collaborate with other disciplines to make modifications to BMS settings to manage the building's space
Support cross-functional collaboration, including all local and global partners
Manage controls vendors while supporting site operations, including direct oversight of all system configurations and component upgrades
Provide QA/QC oversight of controls scope, review proposals and review programming through the commissioning process for new construction and retrofits
Assess all control system configurations and component upgrades to ensure system integrity is maintained and that all modifications to existing systems comply with best practices, including change control processes
Provide training to critical facility engineers and other cross-functional teams on control equipment, systems, procedures, and changes
