Job Description

The Electrical Site Supervisor is responsible for the day‑to‑day supervision, quality control, and safe delivery of electrical rewire programmes across social housing properties. The role ensures all works comply with electrical regulations, health & safety standards, client specifications, and social housing requirements while providing excellent customer service to residents.

Job Responsibility

  • Operational Supervision: Supervise and coordinate electricians, mates, and subcontractors delivering full and partial rewires
  • Plan daily workloads, allocate jobs, and ensure operatives have correct materials, drawings, and instructions
  • Quality Assurance & Compliance: Ensure all works comply with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations), Building Regulations, and client technical standards
  • Review and sign off EICRs, Electrical Installation Certificates, and Minor Works Certificates
  • Health & Safety: Enforce safe working practices in accordance with HSE Regulations and company procedures
  • Conduct toolbox talks, RAMS briefings, and safety audits
  • Resident Liaison: Communicate effectively with tenants before, during, and after works
  • Resolve any access issues, concerns, or complaints professionally
  • Programme & Client Coordination: Attend client progress meetings and provide updates on performance
  • Liaise with planners, surveyors, and property managers to schedule works and manage variations

Requirements

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation
  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (current version)
  • 2391 (or equivalent) Inspection & Testing qualification
  • Experience supervising electrical teams on social housing projects
  • Strong understanding of domestic rewires, void property work, and occupied property protocols
  • Ability to read drawings, specifications, and test results
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Strong knowledge of H&S requirements in residential environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple properties and teams simultaneously
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Calm under pressure with good decision-making ability
