We are seeking a highly qualified and Saudi Aramco and/or SEC-approved Electrical QA/QC Engineer to join our transmission and substation project team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing, inspecting, and ensuring the quality and compliance of all electrical works related to Overhead Transmission Lines (OHTL), high-voltage gantries, and substation installations. The role requires proven experience in high-voltage transmission and substation projects, with strong hands-on expertise in HV equipment installation, OHTL systems, grounding and bonding, cable installation, termination, and electrical testing activities. The Electrical QA/QC Engineer shall ensure full compliance with Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES), SEC Transmission Construction Standards (TCS), project specifications, and relevant international codes and standards.
Job Responsibility:
Review, verify, and approve Project Quality Plans (PQP), Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, shop drawings, and technical submittals related to electrical works for OHTL, gantry, and substation projects
Ensure all electrical materials and equipment comply with approved vendor lists, project specifications, Saudi Aramco standards, and SEC requirements
Conduct site inspections and surveillance for OHTL works including tower grounding, tower erection, hardware installation, conductor and OPGW stringing, sagging, and tensioning activities
Inspect fabrication, erection, alignment, and installation of high-voltage gantry structures and associated electrical components
Inspect installation of substation equipment including transformers, circuit breakers, disconnect switches, busbars, CTs, VTs, surge arresters, cable sealing ends, and control and protection panels
Verify installation of LV, MV, and HV cables including routing, laying, glanding, termination, splicing, identification, and cable management systems
Witness and record electrical testing and pre-commissioning activities such as insulation resistance tests, continuity tests, Hi-Pot/VLF tests, grounding resistance tests, transformer tests, and primary and secondary injection testing
Ensure grounding and bonding systems for OHTL towers, gantries, equipment foundations, and substations are installed as per approved drawings and standards
Maintain accurate records of inspections, test results, and quality documentation
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly QA/QC reports highlighting inspection status, progress, and quality issues
Issue, monitor, and close Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Site Observation Reports (SORs), and corrective actions
Coordinate and communicate with contractors, construction teams, and Saudi Aramco/SEC representatives on all quality-related matters
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
Mandatory: Current or previous approval as Electrical QA/QC Engineer or Inspector from Saudi Aramco (SAP/ID Number) and/or Saudi Electricity Company (SEC)
Minimum of 8 years of experience in QA/QC roles within OHTL, high-voltage transmission, and substation projects
Hands-on experience in 132/230/380 kV transmission lines, gantry structures, and HV substation installations
Strong knowledge of Saudi Aramco Engineering Standards (SAES), SEC Transmission Construction Standards (TCS), IEC, IEEE, and other applicable international standards
Experience in electrical testing, inspection, and pre-commissioning activities
ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification or equivalent is preferred
