The Architect of Automation: Electrical PLC & Control Specialist. Are you a controls visionary who can bridge the gap between complex code and heavy machinery? We are looking for a high-level Electrical PLC / Control Specialist to lead our automation evolution across Southern Ontario. Based in Ancaster, this role isn't just about maintaining systems—it’s about designing them from the ground up and mentoring the next generation of technical talent.

Job Responsibility:

  • Designing, developing, and implementing robust Control Systems for brand-new machinery
  • Programming and fine-tuning a variety of PLC programs & HMI, and Servo systems
  • Leading the charge on automation, robotics programming, and electrical system integration
  • Designing control panels and wiring diagrams (AutoCAD), creating BOMs, and supervising machine startups and process launches
  • Driving 'Press Appreciation' projects (rebuilds/repairs) and implementing automation cell improvements
  • Expertly troubleshooting systems up to 575V, utilizing your deep understanding of Wonderware software

Requirements:

  • A University Degree in Electrical Engineering or a specialized College Diploma
  • At least 5+ years of demonstrated success in controls and data acquisition
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office, with a natural ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams
  • If you have experience with Cincinnati, Dorst, or SMS presses, you’re exactly who we’re looking for
  • You are comfortable in a 'hands-on' environment—climbing, crouching, and navigating the manufacturing floor with a sense of urgency
