Rock of Ages has an opening for an Electrical Mechanical Technician to join our production team at Rock of Ages. Our craftsmen and craftswomen extract, cut and transform stone to create beautiful granite products for our valued customers in the U.S. and abroad. This role requires a hands-on approach, self-motivation, and a commitment to personal and professional development while contributing to the growth and success of our team. This candidate will be responsible for repairing, and maintaining the equipment, keeping safety practices, attention to detail, responsibility and reliability as a top priority.
Job Responsibility:
Build, troubleshoot and repair industrial controls, instruments, production machinery and related electrical hardware (sensors, wiring)
Repair and perform preventative maintenance of equipment including the diagnosis and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Collaborate with the Production team to gain a thorough understanding of machine layout, processes, and functions
Responsible for overseeing equipment installation and troubleshooting when problems arise
Ability to create and read blueprints, measure and install hardware, program equipment appropriately, and ensure the facility’s electrical system is up to code
Responsible for keeping detailed records
Responsible for maintaining electrical inventory
Responsible for reviewing various manufacturers’ warranties where required
Adhere to safety protocols by performing frequent inspections, quality standards, and project timelines to deliver high-quality solutions that meet or exceed client specifications and industry regulations
Requirements:
Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
or not less than 5 years related experience and/or training
or equivalent combination of education from an accredited electrical trade with experience
Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with meticulous documentation practices
Experience with motor controls and PLC troubleshooting is strongly preferred
Must have computer skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook
Must be able to read Visual Basic source code and program structure
A working knowledge of, and an established reputation in, OSHA compliance matters
Professionalism in a collaborative work environment
Willing to work overtime and weekends, when required
Occasional day and/or overnight travel may be required
Nice to have:
Experience with motor controls and PLC troubleshooting is strongly preferred
