Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical/Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team, responsible for ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of electrical systems within residential and commercial type properties. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, hands-on experience with electrical maintenance procedures, and the ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues promptly.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems in residential and commercial properties
  • Identify and address potential issues to prevent breakdowns and ensure the safety and reliability of electrical equipment
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems in a timely and efficient manner
  • Execute necessary repairs, replacements, or upgrades to electrical components and systems
  • Ensure all electrical work complies with relevant codes, standards, and regulations
  • Implement safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a secure working environment
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections
  • Create and update documentation related to electrical systems and equipment
  • Collaborate with other maintenance professionals, contractors, and stakeholders to coordinate and execute electrical projects
  • Communicate effectively with property owners, tenants, and management regarding maintenance schedules and updates
  • Respond promptly to emergency electrical issues, providing quick and effective solutions to minimize downtime and potential hazards
  • Participate in the planning and execution of electrical system upgrades and installations to meet evolving property needs and technology advancements
  • Stay informed about industry trends, new technologies, and best practices
  • Provide training and guidance to junior staff or property occupants on electrical safety measures and best practices

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in the installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of electrical systems within high-rise residential developments
  • Competent in carrying out EICR testing, completing certification, and ensuring compliance with current electrical regulations and safety standards
  • Strong fault-finding skills on electrical systems including lighting, emergency lighting, power distribution, and lighting control systems
  • Experience working with and supporting BMS/EMS (Building / Energy Management Systems), including monitoring, basic programming support, and fault diagnosis
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications relevant to complex residential buildings
  • Conduct regular inspections and planned preventative maintenance to ensure system reliability, resident safety, and minimal downtime
  • Knowledge of safe working practices in occupied buildings, including permit systems and coordination with other trades and facilities teams
