Job Description:

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an Electrical Engineer for a company in the Devon area. With no day ever being the same the Electrical Engineer role offers an opportunity to work with a leading manufacture company and offers career development within a first-class organisation.

Job Responsibility:

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and respond to breakdowns across all manufacturing equipment
  • Diagnose faults, complete repairs and work to minimise downtime
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying issues and contributing to long‑term engineering solutions
  • Work collaboratively with the wider engineering and production teams to maintain high operational standards
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures and compliance requirements.

Requirements:

  • Engineering experience within a manufacturing or production environment
  • Multiskilled background (mechanical and electrical) preferred
  • electrical‑bias engineers with a desire to upskill also welcome
  • City & Guilds 236 and 18th Edition qualifications
  • Strong problem‑solving ability and a proactive approach to maintenance.

  • Communicate unscheduled breakdowns to the Engineering Shift Manager / Principal Engineer and work with the operations department to minimise plant disruption
  • Follow good engineering standards and good hygiene practice for the department
  • Ensure all activities are carried out within company and legislative health and safety guidelines, highlighting possible areas of improvement to the Engineering Shift Manager / Principal Engineer
  • Mentor to Level 1 to 3 Maintenance Engineers as well as Apprentices
  • Timely reporting of any Health and Safety, Animal Welfare and Environmental Issues
  • Follow the communicated escalation route for unscheduled plant downtime and minimise downtime by following a good engineering practice
