The Electrical & Assembly Technician (Lead) plays a critical role in the successful execution of electrical assembly, panel wiring, and system integration while providing day-to-day technical guidance to assembly and electrical technicians. This role supports project execution, quality, safety, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, project-driven manufacturing environment.
Job Responsibility
Serve as the technical lead for electrical assembly activities, including: Control panel wiring
Power distribution wiring
I/O wiring and system-level electrical integration
Troubleshoot electrical issues at the component, panel, and system level
Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), startup activities, and system debugging
Review electrical schematics and layouts to ensure accurate implementation
Provide on-the-floor guidance and mentoring to electrical and assembly technicians
Perform hands-on assembly of standard and custom equipment, including conveyors, devices, and sub-assemblies
Ensure all electrical and mechanical work is completed per drawings, specifications, and NCC quality standards
Support installation, repair, inspection, rework, and reassembly activities as needed
Assist with schedule adherence by coordinating work priorities with the Assembly Team Leader and Project Management
Follow all NCC safety policies and procedures, OSHA requirements, and customer site safety standards
Promote and model safe work practices, ergonomics, and proper tool usage
Ensure electrical work complies with applicable codes, standards, and NCC best practices
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Communicate work status, risks, and technical issues clearly with technicians, team leaders, project managers, and engineering
Update MPS to reflect current status on electrical tasks
Act as a go-to resource for electrical questions on the production floor
Support continuous improvement initiatives and provide feedback on design-for-assembly and electrical standardization
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
5+ years of experience in electrical assembly, panel wiring, and industrial automation environments
Strong ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings
Proven troubleshooting skills for electrical systems and components
Hands-on experience with industrial automation, conveyors, or custom machine builds
Ability to lead by example and support less-experienced technicians
Nice to have
Technical certificate or associate degree in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or related field
Experience working in a project-based, engineer-to-order manufacturing environment
Familiarity with UL standards, industrial control panels, and system-level wiring
