Requirements

3+ years of experience in electrical estimating, cost consulting, or construction cost management
Understanding of electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, and data systems
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and construction documents
Experience preparing quantity take-offs and detailed cost estimates
Knowledge of construction materials, labour pricing, and equipment costing
Experience sourcing and comparing supplier and subcontractor pricing
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and estimating software/tools
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field preferred

Job Responsibility

Prepare detailed electrical cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and equipment
Review electrical drawings and specifications to identify and quantify the scope of work
Assist in preparing estimates for electrical systems including power, lighting, fire alarm, and data systems
Source and compare supplier and subcontractor pricing to support accurate project costing
Assist with change order pricing and cost impact assessments throughout the project lifecycle
Maintain and update cost databases, benchmarks, and rate libraries
Liaise with project engineers, contractors, consultants, and clients on cost-related matters
Support project teams with budgeting, forecasting, and cost planning activities
Ensure estimates are completed accurately and within project timelines
