Join our team as an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician, where you’ll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our plant operations. You’ll perform inspections, repairs, and rebuilds on electrical and instrumentation systems to maintain continuous production and meet quality standards. This position directly impacts our Plant OEE and Equipment Availability goals by reducing unplanned downtime.
Job Responsibility:
Ensure compliance with all company, state, and governmental health and safety regulations
Perform and document workplace inspections promptly
Conduct preventive maintenance checks and report findings clearly
Initiate and complete work orders accurately in the CMMS system
Maintain proper inventory control and charge parts per company procedures
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain: Power distribution systems and transformers
Low, medium, and high-voltage switchgear (up to 4160 volts)
Motor control circuits, AC/DC motors, and drives
PLCs, variable speed drives, and process control circuits
Sensors (pressure, temperature, motion), flow meters, and control valves
Hydraulic/pneumatic systems and gas analyzers
Perform electrical calculations and use precision test equipment (volt meters, meggers, loop calibrators, etc.)
Fabricate and install conduit
perform soldering operations
Maintain cameras, monitors, and belt-weighing devices
Participate in training for new equipment installations and skill upgrades
Maintain tools in good condition and ensure housekeeping standards post-job
Requirements:
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation, and troubleshooting techniques
Proficiency with Windows OS and Microsoft Office
AutoCAD and SAP experience preferred
Ability to multi-task with a sense of urgency and work independently or as part of a team
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Commitment to safety and reliability with a strong attendance record
Must be capable of working any shift, overtime, be on-call, or work seven days a week, if needed
Must be able to multi task with a strong sense of urgency to meet the customer needs
Must be able to work well within a team environment and take instructions from management and co-workers
Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently
Must possess the basic reading and math skills
Must have good written and verbal communication skills
Must possess basic computer skills on how to use MS Office products and SAP
Strong record of attendance reliability
Must know, understand and observe all department and plant safety rules and maintain a high level of housekeeping in assigned work areas
Must be capable of performing the essential job duties required of this job
Ability to access all plant areas, including heights up to 80 feet, confined spaces, ladders, and tunnels
Exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, vibration, dust, fumes, and mineral particles
Ability to lift/carry up to 80 lbs occasionally and perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, stooping, and kneeling
REQUIRED EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED equivalent
PREFFERED EDUCATION: Completion of an apprenticeship program, technical program, or equivalent experience in industrial background
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 5 to 7 years electrical experience
