Job Description:

This is an exceptional opportunity to join our dynamic Maintenance team where you will take on a pivotal role in providing technical support across engineering teams by troubleshooting faults, planning and delivering instrumentation, electrical and HV maintenance, and resolving reliability issues to ensure safe, timely and cost‑effective plant performance.

Requirements:

  • Support the supervisor in setting the styles and standards for technicians to ensure all maintenance tasks are carried out in accordance with statutory, environmental, health and safety standards
  • Develop and revise isolation certificates for the electrical and HV isolations
  • Carry out job audits on technicians to ensure continued safe task execution by the technicians across the Billingham Complex
  • Deputises for the Maintenance Supervisor as and when required
  • Provides technical support to IE technicians for troubleshooting, advice and task quality control
  • Responsible for training of other IE Technicians to develop site specific standards/equipment competence
  • Responsible for the management & Mentoring of trade specific apprentices
  • Supports and advises supervisors during instrumentation and electrical fault-finding, maintenance, overhaul and commissioning of IE systems and components
  • Manage the safety of the high voltage (HV) distribution system and undertake routine maintenance and perform fault finding and repairs on all aspects of HV system equipment
  • Responds to, field plans and executes IE ‘P1’s’
  • Responsible for managing selected minor outages, projects, breakdowns and work packages
  • Responsible to ensure that work is prepared (planned), spares audited (kitted) and tools and equipment are available prior to acceptance onto the schedule
  • Coordinates and acts as an instrumentation and electrical Subject Matter Expert in Asset Strategy reviews
  • Raising, releasing and completing Work Orders and updating databases as required
  • Reviewing and updating of records, plant drawings, technical data and manuals
  • Be willing to work outside of normal hours on a planned or call-in basis
  • Support external audits, such as HSE, in development of responses, collation of evidence and closing out of actions
  • Support the E&I co-ordinator, planners and engineers in RCAs
  • Conduct initial Root Cause Analyses (RCAs)
