Job Description:

Aplin is searching for an Electrical Estimator to join a growing team in Calgary, AB. They are looking for an experienced Electrical Tradesperson or Electrical Technologist who understands constructability and enjoys working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven estimating environment. You will play a key role in supporting estimating pursuits across multiple regional offices and contributing to competitive, well-structured bids.

Job Responsibility:

Prepare detailed electrical estimates and support bid pursuits for new projects
Review drawings and specifications
complete take-offs and device counts
Develop RFIs, assess project risks, and identify key cost drivers
Build accurate estimates using Accubid, supplier pricing, and site information
Present estimates, assumptions, and risks during internal review meetings
Support project handover, budgets, change orders, and contract requirements

Requirements:

Journeyperson Electrician, 4th-Year Electrical Apprentice, or Electrical Technologist diploma
Strong working knowledge of Accubid, Excel, and Bluebeam
Solid understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), wiring methods, and constructability
Detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working to tight deadlines
Strong communication skills with a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
Valid driver’s licence
