As an Electrical Estimator at Interstates, you will continue to grow and demonstrate those skills by developing timely and accurate cost estimates across a variety of industries and electrical installations for our clients. The variety of clients and industries that Interstates serves, keeps our electrical estimators at the leading edge of the latest designs, code, and electrical systems for the industry.
Job Responsibility:
Develop accurate and timely electrical construction estimates on which we base competitive bids and proposals for our client-base customers
Analyze and interpret detailed drawings and specifications
Determine and price value-engineered alternatives to plans and specifications
Perform budget pricing from schematic drawings and narrative
Draft scope letters, proposals and vendor solicitations
Attend job walks
pre-bid meetings
collaborations and conferences with clients and design professionals
Work under deadline pressures in an efficient, composed and calm manner
Work alongside other estimators, project managers and project engineers on change-orders and cost-to-complete estimates of on-going projects
Help create and communicate company standards for estimating electrical design/build and plans and specs work
Additional duties as assigned by management
Requirements:
2 years of Electrical or Electrical Estimating experience
Experience with Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Outlook
Knowledge and proficiency with Code requirements and basic electrical engineering calculations is a plus
Analytical, problem-solving mentality
Team player, self-motivated, gets along well with supervisors, peers and subordinates
Excellent verbal and written communication
Able to track and organize project and information
Able to calculate figures and amounts
Possesses sound judgement skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize work
A high school diploma or GED is required
Additional education or experience in Estimating, Construction Management, Finance or Business Administration or other equivalent studies is preferred, including recent graduates
