Job Description:

We are currently looking for a Electrical Design Coordinator to join our team as part of the Grid & Digital Solutions department of the M Power Projects division, for the construction of the EGL1, a collaborative effort between National Grid Electricity Transmission and SP Transmission, aiming to transmit renewable energy from Scotland to England. These stations, responsible for converting direct current to alternating current, play a crucial role in the efficient and reliable transmission of 2GW of green energy through a 190km subsea HVDC cable, powering over two million homes in the UK.

Job Responsibility:

Coordinate design interfaces between Metlen, GE, and design partners through concept and detailed design packages
Ensure engineering assurance is undertaken in accordance with the EMP and client requirements
Identification and control of engineering design change
Undertake design reviews of vendor deliverables to check for compliance with requirements, constructability, safety, and temporary works requirements
Provide technical expertise within their discipline and inspire project teams to perform, innovate, and deliver sustainable design solutions

Requirements:

BSc in Electrical Engineering
Minimum 5 yrs experience in a similar position
Experience of delivering National Grid and/or Scottish Power Networks projects
Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
Job-related technical knowledge necessary to complete the project
Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and efficient manner
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable county, province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines
