The key role of this position is to provide input and assistance to the deployment of electrification solutions for new or existing port equipment by translating electrical infrastructure designs into technical specifications and evaluating the technical proposals/designs to achieve optimized energy consumption in support of the overall decarbonization strategy.
Job Responsibility:
Provide fundamental input to new or existing equipment electrification initiatives
Participate in discovering and developing the requirements for energy-optimized terminal equipment solutions from the electrical infrastructure perspective
Conducting technical feasibility evaluations and providing infrastructure recommendations to enable port equipment electrification and energy optimization initiatives
Develop the technical specifications, ensuring that the functional requirements are well understood and covered
Elaborate on the documents, hence the scope, for the Request for Proposal of consultants and contractors
Guide with criteria the consultants in charge of the detailed design performing ‘value engineering
Participate in a tender team, analyzing and evaluating consultant’s and contractor’s proposals
Achieve design review (with the support of a consultant as needed)
Collaborate with peers in the technical function to ensure the design, engineering, and delivery of an integrated asset to the internal customer
Maintain a forward-looking risk register and subsequent mitigation strategies
Build effective communication and collaboration with associated divisions and external parties and support result-oriented cross-functional cooperation to achieve common goals
Act as subject matter expert for energy optimization initiatives for the terminals as needed
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in a delivery-focused electrical infrastructure (HV/LV, power, distribution) related environment, preferably in an international context
In-depth Electric and MEP engineering experience, preferable in a port/terminal environment
Contract Management experience (FIDIC) would be a plus
Project Management experience would be a plus
Have a good understanding of Project Management built on Technical Engineering skills
Have a good understanding of electrical infrastructure and related technical engineering aspects
Excellent analytical, collaboration, and communication skills
Capable of coordinating cross-functional teams in order to achieve project success
Driven, self-motivating, result orientated
High discipline – following through on actions and ensuring necessary documentation
High-quality awareness and ability to work with constant care
Sensitive to cultural diversity and experience in a multicultural environment, in regard to employees, local authorities, and other stakeholders
Understanding of WBS principles, estimating, planning and EV-management
Excellent English is written and verbal communication, presentation, and facilitation skills are a must
MSc or BSc in Electric Engineering, Architect or similar
