MEYERS+ ENGINEERS is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join our New York office and work on world class design projects with a leading MEP design firm in the architectural engineering consulting industry. We are looking for a technically proficient and seasoned engineer with experience delivering complex projects. The ideal candidate will have a passion for architecture and engineering related to the design and construction of highly sustainable, high performance, innovative, and iconic buildings. Job Responsibility:
Conceptualize electrical systems and communicate design options to clients and other stakeholders
Develop high quality construction documents and specifications
Perform engineering calculations for building load analysis and emergency power systems
Prepare building due diligence and assessment reports to describe existing systems and electrical design options
Participate with the MEP team in construction administration activities including on-site field observation, punch list reports, contractor coordination, RFI’s, and cost estimate review
Provide mentorship, training, and development for junior staff
Develop client relationships through successful coordination and demonstration of excellence on project work
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering
4+ Years' Experience
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or actively pursuing
LEED Accreditation
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship
Experience working on a variety of building types through all phases of a project from schematic design through construction administration
Excellent communications skills
Desire for project management roles
Excellent written skills in the form of engineering reports and technical analysis
Effective knowledge of the National and NYC Electrical Code, New York Building Code, and NFPA Codes
Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, Revit
Construction administration experience
Engineering calculations (load calculations, short circuit calculations, generator sizing, voltage drop, Title 24 compliance forms)
