The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the supervision and management of the 220kV substation construction and commissioning. This includes ensuring the installation, integration, and testing of electrical systems within the substation. The engineer will ensure that all electrical systems adhere to both local and international standards and regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibility:
Supervision of 220kV Substation Construction: Oversee the construction and commissioning of the 220kV substation, ensuring that all electrical components, including transformers, switchgear, and protection systems, are installed according to the design and specifications
Manage the installation of high-voltage equipment and ensure that the substation's electrical infrastructure integrates seamlessly with the solar PV plant's electrical network
Supervise all aspects of electrical work related to the substation, including cable routing, busbar installation, earthing, and power transformer setup
Testing and Commissioning: Manage the testing and commissioning process for both the 220kV substation and the solar PV electrical systems, ensuring all systems are operational and meet required specifications before the final plant handover
Oversee the execution of electrical tests for the substation, including protection and control systems, and coordinate the commissioning process
Collaboration with Other Disciplines: Work closely with mechanical, civil, and other project teams to ensure seamless integration of the substation and other electrical systems with solar panels, trackers, and civil foundations
Coordinate with external stakeholders, including utility companies and grid operators, for substation integration and grid connection
Compliance with Safety and Standards: Ensure the 220kV substation and other electrical systems comply with local Romanian electrical codes, industry standards, and health and safety regulations
Work with the Site Project Manager to maintain adherence to safety protocols and ensure that all electrical work follows established safety guidelines
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in electrical engineering for large-scale renewable energy projects, with a focus on high-voltage systems
Experience in supervising the construction and commissioning of 220kV substations is essential
Excellent understanding of high-voltage electrical systems, grid integration, safety procedures, and compliance standards in Romania and the EU
Proficiency in electrical testing procedures
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and single-line diagrams, particularly for high-voltage systems like substations
Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is essential
