Join Sugar Australia as an Electrical Engineer based at our Yarraville VIC site. This is a 12-month full-time, fixed-term opportunity, ideal for someone with experience in capital projects within an industrial or manufacturing environment. Reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will support the delivery of electrical and control system projects and provide electrical expertise across operations, maintenance and engineering teams. You’ll work closely with a range of stakeholders to ensure projects and site activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with required standards.
Job Responsibility:
Managing electrical and control system capital projects, ensuring delivery to scope, budget and timeline
Preparing tender documentation, managing contractors and supporting project delivery from design through to completion
Reviewing and developing electrical, instrumentation and control system designs for compliance and suitability
Providing technical support to maintenance, production and capital teams to resolve plant and system issue
Ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations, including AS3000, AS4024 and hazardous area requirements
Maintaining and updating electrical drawings, documentation and procedures in line with site standards
Supporting the management and reliability of the site electrical network
Ensuring all work is completed in line with permit-to-work requirements
Identifying opportunities for cost savings, standardisation and continuous improvement
Collaborating with cross-functional teams and external contractors to deliver strong project and operational outcomes
Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering
Minimum 5 years’ experience in an industrial or FMCG manufacturing environment
Demonstrated experience delivering engineering capital projects
Strong understanding of electrical standards, regulations and workplace health and safety requirements
Experience using AutoCAD, Microsoft Project and SAP
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to build effective relationships and work collaboratively across teams
A proactive, positive and continuous improvement mindset
Nice to have:
Knowledge of SCADA systems (such as Citect) and PLC design is highly regarded
