The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
Job Responsibility:
Interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications into work authorization documents (WAD)
Lead Technicians on WAD execution and serve as task team leader on flight hardware integration
Develop ground flight application software(GFAS) for use in the ground vehicle testing and launch
Obtain and maintain system specific certifications
Test, checkout and launch the SLS/Orion from Launch Control Center(LCC)
Requirements:
Bachelor of Science (BS) in Engineering or technical equivalent from an accredited institution
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, Internet browsers, and Outlook
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
Highly motivated and a self-starter that can work in either a team environment or individually where much of the job is initially On the Job Training (OJT)
Ability to Interpret written information and effectively communicate verbally and in writing
Ability to Interpret engineering schematics, drawings, 3D CAD files, and technical specifications
Ability to clearly and professionally present technical information to senior management and customer stakeholders
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if necessary
Ability to lead teams
Great time management
Attention to detail and drive to deliver results
Passion for rockets, space and the team is a must
Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships
Will be required to climb stairs to access equipment for troubleshooting
Climbing ladders and platforms will be necessary

Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing
Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures
Must be able to work in tight confined space areas
All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards
Will be required to work inside and outside throughout the test complex
Position requires daily individual to travel to different areas on site
Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations on the facility
Operate computer terminals, personal computers, and related computer peripheral equipment to maintain/adjust database logs and records, print documents and record work performance
Personal computer, scanner, copy machine, telephone, laser printer, fax machine, and other office equipment including desk supplies
Work assignments are normally 8 hours shifts, 5 consecutive days per week
Must be dependable and punctual
Occasional overtime, sometimes with short notice, is required to meet demanding schedule

Needs to have clear, concise, and accurate communication skills
Must have ability to work well with office staff and customer representatives
Government security clearance may be required in the future
Must be able to travel to support position requirements. This may include travel to and from customer location, which may involve airline travel. In some cases, accommodations can be made for POV, if necessary
