We are seeking a highly motivated and collaborative Electrical Engineer / Hardware Engineer to support our Silicon Photonics Engineering group in North Reading, MA. Development occurs in a dynamic and challenging global multi-site environment. You will participate in platform product development initiatives within our Silicon Photonics product team. In the SiPh Engineering group, we focus on developing state-of-the-art Optical Instruments for our Semiconductor Test Equipment products. This optical test equipment is essential for the massive expansion in AI that the industry is currently experiencing. You will create innovative and sound technical solutions to complex engineering problems. You will also identify essential requirements and key technical risks. You will work closely with Mechanical Engineers, Systems Engineers, and Optical Engineers to design solutions for New Product Introduction and High-Volume Manufacturing. Participation in industry seminars, and ongoing skills-based training is also encouraged.
Job Responsibility:
Hands-on execution of design development, product integration, verification testing, and debug
Develop electrical component requirements and implementation plans / topologies from higher level product and system requirements
Circuit development and debug, including on-board power supply design, power regulation, control loops, filters, high speed circuits and signals
Prototype builds of cables, cable harnesses, custom PCB’s, and other electro-mechanical assemblies
Assist with Electrical and EMC testing based upon various standard specifications (SAE, ISO, CE, UL, SEMI etc.). Work with third party, notified bodies, such as TUV, to analyze data and prepare test reports
Creation and modification of schematics, layouts, and other engineering documentation to assist new product introduction personnel as well as for training purposes with the engineering team
Create BOM structures, author Engineering Change Orders, and work with Supply Line and Manufacturing Engineers to ensure a sustainable product
Requirements:
BS or advanced degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related technical field with relevant course study in: Electronics Design, Analog Hardware Design & Circuit Analysis, Electromagnetics, Micro-Electronic Circuits, Logic Design, Signals & Systems, Control Systems and Motion Control
7+ years of experience within product development and manufacturing environments for electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies, including sensor interface systems, communications equipment and systems, controls equipment, power conditioning and electrical distribution systems
Experience with industry standards such UL, CE, IEC, IPC, NFPA, SEMI, etc
Understanding of analog and digital signal design concepts
Ability to select OEM electrical components and sensors based upon requirements documentation
Ability to generate system schematics and electrical diagrams
Ability to create cable and harness drawings
Experience with common lab bench equipment (Oscilloscopes, DMM’s, Function Generators, etc.)
