A nationally recognized engineering consulting firm is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer PE to support complex building system projects in Colorado Springs. This role offers the opportunity to work across a diverse portfolio including laboratories, healthcare facilities, manufacturing environments, higher education campuses, and commercial developments, while contributing throughout the full project lifecycle from concept through construction and post-occupancy.
Job Responsibility:
Lead electrical system design from initial concept through construction administration and post-occupancy evaluation
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget
Conduct site visits, field assessments, and evaluations of existing electrical systems and infrastructure
Ensure compliance with applicable building, electrical, and energy codes, including NFPA and other industry standards
Develop and document designs within a BIM (Revit) environment and utilize related engineering software tools
Perform detailed engineering calculations and prepare construction documentation
Review the work of junior engineers, providing mentorship and identifying development opportunitie
Support project coordination efforts, ensuring alignment with client goals and project requirements
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution
Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical design within a consulting or design-build environment
Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain licensure
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, building codes, energy codes, and NFPA standards
Proficiency with design software such as Revit, AutoCAD, SKM PTW, or similar tools
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and with clients
Demonstrated project management capabilities and strong analytical/problem-solving skills
Self-motivated with a collaborative mindset and interest in mentoring junior engineers
