Job Description:

As an Engineer II , Load Interconnection at Crusoe, you will play a critical role in expanding our energy infrastructure and integrating our large-load facilities into the electric grid. You will be a key individual contributor, focusing on the complex challenges of connecting and optimizing our operations within the grid, including ERCOT, SPP, MISO, PJM etc.. This position requires deep technical expertise in power systems and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a rapidly evolving industry.

Job Responsibility:

  • Performing and supporting grid integration studies for large-load facilities
  • Running technical power flow studies and supporting the submission of interconnection applications for Crusoe's facilities, ensuring technical data verification and sufficiency at various stages within ERCOT and SPP markets
  • Managing transmission injection Performing load deliverability studies in ERCOT and SPP based on regional criteria
  • Contributing to the technical development of new hires, sharing knowledge and best practices in grid integration
  • Working with internal teams to understand project needs, drafting technical specifications, and supporting the business development team on the technical aspects of proposals related to grid integration
  • Staying abreast of industry trends, attending conferences, and supporting other travel as required for projects and professional development
  • Being responsible for the dynamic modeling of various large-load facilities to meet the modeling requirements for ERCOT and SPP, using tools such as PSS/e and PSCAD-EMTDC

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Power Systems with 1+ years of experience in power system or Bachelor’s and 3+ years of experience in planning, system modeling, and grid code compliance studies
  • Strong working knowledge of ERCOT or SPP interconnection procedures
  • Working knowledge of TARA, PSS/e and/or PSCAD-EMTDC
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and report writing skills

Nice to have:

  • Experience with other ISO/RTO markets (e.g., CAISO, MISO, PJM, WECC, SERC)
  • Working knowledge of PowerWorld Simulator, ETAP, TSAT, and ASPEN OneLiner
  • Working knowledge or prior experience with scripting languages such as R or Python
