DCS has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Engineer supporting the Training Division (AFLCMC/WNR) at Hill Air Force Base in Ogden, Utah. The WNR Division serves as the Air Force’s technical, acquisition, and sustainment authority, delivering comprehensive and mission-critical support to the warfighter. The division oversees a wide range of Air Force systems including Electronic Warfare, Range Systems, Air Combat Training, Command and Control Systems, Advanced Radar Threat Systems, and Combat Survivor Evader Locator systems. WNR also supports depot-level sustainment and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) programs for the U.S. Air Force and partner organizations including the U.S. Army, Navy, PACAF, ACC, AFMC, and AETC. This role provides electrical engineering and systems engineering support across the acquisition lifecycle under an Integrated Product Team (IPT) structure, ensuring Operational Safety, Suitability, and Effectiveness (OSS&E) is incorporated into all activities. In this Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) role, the Electrical Engineer provides expert-level engineering support to Department of Defense (DoD) programs. The position supports government leadership with system design evaluation, lifecycle engineering analysis, test and evaluation planning, and technical risk management in compliance with DoD acquisition processes.
Job Responsibility:
Conduct systems engineering reviews and analyses across all lifecycle phases including concept development, engineering and manufacturing development, production, deployment, and operations & support
Translate DoD user requirements into system requirements to guide design, development, fabrication, and evaluation efforts
Review system design baselines to assess architecture and interoperability requirements
Support development of system specifications and architecture documentation
Analyze engineering change proposals, specifications, and vendor submissions and provide recommendations to the Government
Apply electrical engineering principles to system design, validation, and performance assessment
Conduct lifecycle cost evaluations of systems and components
Support risk tracking, issue resolution, and technical working groups
Support program objectives in alignment with acquisition and sustainment milestones
Requirements:
U.S. Citizenship
Active Secret clearance
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 3 years of experience in the respective discipline, including 3 years in the DoD, OR 7 years of directly related experience, including 5 years in the DoD
Experience and/or training in: Electrical circuit analysis
Modeling and simulation in electrical engineering applications
Hands-on electrical system test and evaluation
Foreign Ground Radar systems or related DoD applications
DoD acquisition processes including technical data package development, sustainment, and configuration management principles
Familiarity With: Electronic Warfare and/or Air Combat Operations
Live aircrew training and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTP) development
Range infrastructure architectures and systems
Foreign ground radar technologies
Nice to have:
Master’s degree in a professional engineering discipline with at least 3 years of experience in the respective discipline, including 3 years in the DoD
Degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program
