Want to work on complex electrical design projects across multiple industries? Saunders International, a 70-year ASX-listed engineering company, is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our growing Brisbane team. We deliver major projects across energy, defence infrastructure, and resources sectors. This is your chance to lead electrical design on industrial automation projects that challenge you technically while working with a supportive team that values innovation and excellence.

Job Responsibility

  • Lead electrical design across control systems, load flow studies, arc flash analysis, earthing design, and AutoCAD deliverables for diverse industries
  • Supervise and sign off on electrical design work
  • Handle design deliverables including load flow studies, short circuit analysis, circuit breaker selectivity, arc flash studies, earthing design, device selection, IO lists, and BOMs
  • Draft and markup drawings in AutoCAD Electrical
  • Develop internal standards
  • Ensure all work meets Australian Standards and client requirements
  • Conduct site inspections, FAT, SAT, fault finding
  • Work directly with clients on design decisions
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Systems Engineers, and the sales team
  • Mentor junior engineers and lead technical discussions

Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering
  • 5+ years in industrial automation electrical design with proven delivery on large projects
  • RPEQ registration
  • Experience with Siemens, Rockwell, or Schneider Electric control systems
  • Technical leadership experience and enthusiasm for innovation
  • Australian driver's licence and full working rights

Nice to have

  • Lightning protection, HV protection, emergency lighting, or high-rise electrical design
  • ETAP, SKM Power Tools, or PowerCAD experience
