Job Description:

Contribute your expertise, skills, and experience as a Electrical Engineer by joining our KDM Engineering team. KDM is a growing, award-winning, minority- and woman-owned professional engineering firm focusing on electric, gas, site civil, and telecommunications engineering designs and support services.

Job Responsibility:

  • Detailed design of mid voltage distribution projects up to and including 34kV
  • interface closely with the client and utilize company, OSHA, and IEEE standards to facilitate design projects
  • work closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design basis
  • provide direction and guidance to drafters and designers
  • direct the flow of drafting and designer duties
  • insure design schedules are met
  • regularly provide project status updates to project engineer
  • work to develop advanced skills
  • work both independently and within a team

Requirements:

  • BS Electrical Engineering degree
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • BGE Experience preferred
  • Proficiency of power engineering theories and principles
  • Proficiency of practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing recommendations
  • Ability to deal with a variety of individuals from various socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • CAD software knowledge a plus
  • Understanding of building design, power generation plants, and/or utility systems
  • Ability to understand complex initiatives across multiple teams/platforms
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Quantitative and analytical skill set
  • Must be willing to comply with all pre-employment screening, including but not limited to, drug testing, reference verification, education and employment verification, and background screening
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Possess a valid Driver's License
  • Current Hybrid Work schedule: 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

  • Team with PCB Design engineers to define, plan, implement, and inspect printed circuit board layout updates using Allegro or other layout tools
  • Test and evaluate basic RF performance of wireless circuitry (Cellular, Wifi, Bluetooth, GNSS, etc) in assigned in-market products
  • Map out test methods, perform system and component verification testing, and drive test plans for evaluating electronics design changes
