Requirements

Bachelor’s/master’s degree in electrical/Energy Engineering from reputed Institute
10-15 years of relevant industry experience in PV system design
Knowledge of IS / IEC codes and Industry practices
Hand-on experience in AutoCAD & Sketchup (Both Mandatory) and PVSyst
Sound knowledge in design areas of Solar Plant Layouts, SLD, engineering drawings, and other electrical requirements for large-scale solar power plants
Design calculations for voltage drop, losses, earthing , LA and others
Knowledge of electrical components/system design, identification of right specification according to the project and as per the IS/IEC standards
Sound knowledge in cables, transformer, switchgear, earthing and protection system
Detailed engineering, detailed project BOQ for the DC electrical portion & seamless coordination with site team
Willingness to travel as per requirement

Job Responsibility

In-house drawings and technical specifications for electrical works (BOM, BOQ, RFP)
Design & Drawing of electrical systems for medium and large-scale PV systems (DC, AC, LV, HV, communication systems/SCADA, Earthing, Lightning protection and Illumination Calculation)
Preparation of Design Documents such as RFP, GTP etc
Preparation of drawing for various projects such as Conceptualization, Tendering, Execution and As-Built Drawings
Preparation of Power flow scheme DC SLD, AC SLD, and Auxiliary supply SLD
Coordination and communication with Technical Vendors
As-Built documentation preparation together with onsite construction team, and assisting site team for clearing the punch points during handover
Developing design documents/drawings using AutoCAD, PVSyst, SketchUp and other tools

Requirements

Typically around 6 years' experience in HV earthing design, measurement and system assessment
Strong working knowledge of SES CDEGS or similar tools
Experience completing substation earthing surveys
Competency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD)
Degree in Electrical Engineering
Chartered or Incorporated status welcomed or in progress
Strong communication, analytical skills, and attention to detail
Full UK driving licence

Job Responsibility

Lead and independently deliver earthing system studies that meet UK specifications and client requirements
Conduct HV substation site surveys, including soil resistivity testing, earthing system measurements, continuity checks and visual inspections
Perform lightning protection assessments, completing detailed technical risk assessments and protection system designs
Deliver complex AC interference and impressed voltage studies
Produce high‑quality technical documentation and engineering reports
Work directly with clients to define scopes, provide technical guidance and manage expectations
Develop project schedules, actions, risks, and decisions with minimal oversight
Mentor junior consultants and review their technical work
Take ownership of delivering our long‑term regional earthing framework across southern Scotland
Plan and execute site surveys at high‑voltage substations

B.E. / B. Tech., Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering
7–10 years experience in design aspects of Solar PV Power Plants / Power Distribution Projects
Software Skills Required: General awareness of Dialux and MS Office
Overall knowledge of equipment layouts and necessary calculations
Detailed knowledge of Solar PV Power Plants
Understanding of engineering activities covering SLD Preparation, Layout Engineering, Earthing, Cable Routing, Lighting, Lightning Protection, Cable Tray Routing etc.
Capable of performing design & sizing calculations of Busbar, UPS, Battery, LT Transformer, Earthing Conductor, calculations (Short circuit force.)
Knowledge on National and International Codes and Standards
Required to understand and interpret the contractual technical requirements
Overall understanding of the inter-disciplinary (Civil & Structural, Mechanical and Instrumentation) design aspects of electrical equipment
