Job Description:

We are currently seeking a skilled electrical Technician to join our team on a contract basis at our Golders Green location. In this role, you will be responsible for the service and repair of depot rolling stock and associated equipment, crucial to the smooth operation of the depot.

Job Responsibility:

  • Perform servicing, maintenance, and repairs on overhaul fleet locomotives, coaching stock, and associated equipment
  • Ensure that all maintenance and repair activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in a cost-effective manner
  • Actively participate in initiatives to enhance the quality of work and processes
  • Collaborate effectively as a member of a work team
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping within the work area
  • Be flexible and willing to take on additional duties within the scope of modification work as needed

Requirements:

  • Strong understanding of electronic and electrical engineering related to various types of rolling stock
  • Technical proficiency in electrical and mechanical engineering
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Competency in IT skills, including the use of personal computers, office software and diagnostic equipment
  • Relevant experience in an electrical engineering environment
  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering
  • Able to work effectively as a member of a multi-disciplined team
  • Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills
  • Capable of working independently when required
  • Possess good judgment and decision-making capability
  • Ability to maintain accurate records of actions and operations in accordance with established procedures
