Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Designer to join our innovative Electric Aircraft program. This role is central to the integration of high-voltage electric propulsion systems into existing aircraft platforms and supports flight testing activities through instrumentation design and system integration.

Job Responsibility:

  • Design high-voltage power distribution systems for electric aircraft applications
  • Develop and route electrical harnesses to integrate battery systems and electric engines with existing aircraft infrastructure
  • Design and implement instrumentation packages to support flight testing, including sensor integration, data acquisition systems, and wiring
  • Collaborate with mechanical, systems, and avionics teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical components
  • Create detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and harness drawings using AutoCAD and MicroStation
  • Support system testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical designs both on the ground and during flight test campaigns
  • Ensure compliance with aviation standards and safety regulations
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • 3+ years of experience in electrical design, preferably in aerospace or automotive sectors
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and MicroStation for electrical design and documentation
  • Familiarity with high-voltage systems, battery integration, and electric propulsion technologies
  • Experience with instrumentation design for flight test or similar testing environments
  • Understanding of aviation certification requirements (e.g., DO-160, FAR/CS standards) is an asset
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Nice to have:

  • Experience with electric aircraft or eVTOL programs considered an asset
  • Knowledge of thermal management and EMI/EMC considerations in high-voltage systems considered an asset
  • Hands-on experience with prototype development, instrumentation, and flight testing considered an asset
